Technology Developed :

  • Novel technologies developed, participatory technology development, prototype, genetic stock, variety, product, vaccine, diagnostic kit, process, concept, methodology.
  • Genetic stock / variety - Two promising cultures for early maturity and higher fibre yield were submitted to All India Network Project on Jute and Allied Fibres for evaluation under Initial evaluation trial (IET) – 2004; I. S – 9741 KEN/DS/025 X KEN/DS/060 C ;II. S – 9793 KEN/Ds/025 X KEN/DS/065 C
  • Genetic stock - First interspecific hybrid between cultivated species ( C . capsularis ) and wild species ( C . pseudoolitorius ).
  • Tissue culture protocol standardized for jute multiplication -Developed Tissue culture protocol to raise true – to –type tissue cultured jute plants through shoot-tip callus. Hardening and transfer to soil has been standardized. (Co – PI / Associate).
  • Dot Blot Technique - A quick screening antibody mediated kit has been developed to estimate the jute peroxidase present in different jute strains on large scale. (Co – PI / Associate).
  • Variety release - S–19 variety of Corchorus olitorius was identified to be released by Variety Release Committee. (Co – PI / Associate).
